Ion Beam Milling manufactures Planar Chip Inductors using either polished quartz or alumina substrates that exhibit a very high dimensional uniformity for bias injection and tuning in microwave amplifier, switch, and multiplier applications.

Ion Beam Milling offers the following thin film gold Planar Chip (Spiral) Inductors deposited on polished quartz as standard products. In addition to Ion Beam Milling’s line of inductor products, on September 9, 2008, Ion Beam Milling and Piconics entered into a partnership agreement under which Ion Beam Milling is the sole producer of Piconics’ Planar Inductor line. Piconics products can either be ordered through the traditional Piconics Sales Channel or else directly through Ion Beam Milling.

Piconics SP Series is a thin film gold spiral inductor depositied on a ceramic or quartz chip. This style inductor can be used where low inductance values and gold wire bond is the interconnection method.
